Dear 6th Grade Parents
We have been receiving quite a few questions regarding the forms, payment, and Camp Marston store money since Back to School night Tuesday. We are hoping this email will answer any outstanding questions you have:
Which forms are due by Friday September 15?
There are two forms, one is an authorization form from San Diego Unified School District to participate in the camp. You need to sign and return the parent authorization portion. In addition to the authorization form you also need to complete the YMCA Camper Health History Form. Both of these need to be returned in order for your student to attend camp on their designated week.
There is an envelope with my child’s name on it, what is this for?
This is where you would send in any money you would like your child to have during their week at camp. Campers will be able to go to the Camp Marston store during their week to purchase snacks and souvenirs, this is not a requirement but if you would like your child to have this option sending money in the envelope will allow them to shop if they desire. The envelope with money is due the Wednesday before they leave for camp with their English teacher.
How much does the camp cost?
The cost per student for the five day camp is $375. This includes lodging, meals, and transportation. Please include your student's first and last name, as well as their Student ID number. If you do not know this number, ask your student. We recognize some families may not be able to afford the entire $375 for their student. The Marshall Mustang Organization will ensure that every student will be able to attend camp regardless of their family's ability to pay. How do we pay for camp?
You can pay either through this link 6th GRADE CAMP https://mmsfoundation.com/6th-grade-camp there is a direct link to PayPal or you can send payment via a check made out to the MMO- please ensure you include your student name and student ID number with your method of payment.
Will there be pictures of campers available for parents?
Yes! There will be photos shared online. Not every child will be photographed every day. Many group photos will be shared. Photo Tips:
* Coach your child to smile for the camera. Have them repeat this phrase back to you: See the camera, look at the camera.
* Pack bright colored clothes. This makes it easier to find them in a large group photo.
